The Children’s Folkloric Ballet from the University of Guanajuato was founded in 1996 with the objective to sensitize the new generations and divulge the dance among children with a discipline that promotes several educative values, that contribute to develop creativity and the physical capabilities and improves the corporal expression. This, done through a rhythm-musical education as well as teaching, practice and valuing of different kinds of dances that rescue the national and state folk.
Indispensable minimum technical requirements:
- Closed or open theater, plaza, patio or auditorium
- Stage space: 12 x 2 m
- Illumination: Ambient Spotlights
- Sound: Equipment with CD player, microphone.
- Other: 2 wide dressing rooms near the presentation place, water.
- Necessary transport to move costumes, props and members, besides the corresponding food.
Entry requirements:
- Have coursed at least 4 semesters in the workshop.
- In case of being in an another group, previous audition.
- Medical certificate.

The Folkloric Ballet from the University of Guanajuato was founded between November 1985 and April 1986 with the purpose to rescue and preserve the ethnic-dance and musical process in the country. The group makes research and choreographic montages oriented to know, preserve and sustain the traditions from the state of Guanajuato and Mexico, as part of our cultural heritage.
Besides promoting and divulging the folkloric dance in the university community and society, the main activity of the group is to present dance programs and regional dances as an artistic expression.

Tuesdays, dance hall from “Mesón de San Antonio” and Fridays in the dance hall from the “Benemérita y Centenaría Escuela Normal Oficial de Guanajuato”; from 18:00 to 20:00 hours.
Classic Ballet from the University of Guanajuato began as a workshop on February 10, 1995. These years of uninterrupted work have allowed to conform the Classic Dance Group from the University of Guanajuato, selecting among their members, female students that have shown integrity, refinement, artistic sensibility, coordination and movement technique the entire time.
Indispensable minimum technical requirements:
- Closed or open theater, plaza, patio or auditorium
- Stage space: 14m wide x 12m depth as minimum, 1m height, side exits (stairs) and a screens in the back and sides (when in open space, plazas, malls, etc.)
- Illumination: Ambient spotlights
- Sound: equipment with CD player, microphone.
- Other: 2 wide dressing rooms near the presentation space, water.
- Transport to move costumes, props and members besides the corresponding foods.
Entry requirements
- Have an advanced level of classic technique, minimum antiquity of four years in classic dance.

Rehearsals time and place
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 19:00 to 21:30 hours, dance hall from “Mesón de San Antonio”.
Tuesday from 19:00 to 21:30 hours, General Auditorium from the University of Guanajuato.
Friday, 18:00 to 20:00 hours, dance hall from “Mesón de San Antonio” (only for general rehearsals when there is a scheduled show).
This group is formed by young college dancers who in their search for a comprehensive formation, have incurred in the artistic ambiance, specifically dancing, where they explore their body’s motor and plastic possibilities in time and space, used to express ideas and emotions with dancing language.
Began as an artistic workshop in 1979 and consolidated as Group “Génesis” in November 1985. To the date, the group has presented more than 50 choreographies and has participated in several forums such as the “Festival Internacional Cervantino”, the “Festival Internacional de San Luis Potosí” ad many other scenarios in the country.
Indispensable minimum technical requirements:
- Theater, closed or open, plaza, patio or auditorium
- Stage space: wooden, clean and in good conditions (linoleum, if necessary) 12m wide x 10m depth, with side exits (stairs) and a screen in the back.
- Illumination: Ambient spotlights
- Sound: CD player with adequate power for the expected audience, with bass, medium and treble frequencies.
- Other: 1 technician or illumination responsible, 1 technician or responsible for illumination and sound and 1 technician responsible for stage machinery, master of ceremonies, dressing rooms with bathroom no further than 5m from stage. It is indispensable to make general rehearsals for 1 and a half minimum before the presentation, water.
- Transport to move costumes, props and members. Food.
