The foundation of the University of Guanajuato goes back to the year 1732. Since then, the university adopted several names, until March 1945, when the rank of University was acquired as well as the name for which is now known.

With a population of nearly 34,000 students, today, the University of Guanajuato is present in 12 cities within the entity through four campuses and one high school college with ten high schools.

Campus Celaya-Salvatierra

It has degrees in the areas of health sciences, social sciences, administrative sciences and engineering.

High-School College

Offers high school education in 10 distributed schools in 10 cities throughout the state and a Technological Baccalaureate with International Profile.

High schools of the university of Guanajuato have been historically important areas of opportunity and social equity for new generations.

As a result from the academic quality, the schools have obtained results above the national and state average in the evaluations.

The study programs focus in the student’s comprehensive development according to the new educational trends.

The formation given for the students considers the cultural, artistic, ecological, sport and social activities as a fundamental part of their comprehensive development.

Rehearsals time and place

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 19:00 to 21:30 hours, dance hall from “Mesón de San Antonio”.

Tuesday from 19:00 to 21:30 hours, General Auditorium from the University of Guanajuato.

Friday, 18:00 to 20:00 hours, dance hall from “Mesón de San Antonio” (only for general rehearsals when there is a scheduled show).

This group is formed by young college dancers who in their search for a comprehensive formation, have incurred in the artistic ambiance, specifically dancing, where they explore their body’s motor and plastic possibilities in time and space, used to express ideas and emotions with dancing language.

Began as an artistic workshop in 1979 and consolidated as Group “Génesis” in November 1985. To the date, the group has presented more than 50 choreographies and has participated in several forums such as the “Festival Internacional Cervantino”, the “Festival Internacional de San Luis Potosí” ad many other scenarios in the country.

Indispensable minimum technical requirements:

Theater, closed or open, plaza, patio or auditorium
Stage space: wooden, clean and in good conditions (linoleum, if necessary) 12m wide x 10m depth, with side exits (stairs) and a screen in the back.
Illumination: Ambient spotlights
Sound: CD player with adequate power for the expected audience, with bass, medium and treble frequencies.
Other: 1 technician or illumination responsible, 1 technician or responsible for illumination and sound and 1 technician responsible for stage machinery, master of ceremonies, dressing rooms with bathroom no further than 5m from stage. It is indispensable to make general rehearsals for 1 and a half minimum before the presentation, water.
Transport to move costumes, props and members. Food.

Entry requirements

Minimum of formation with dance techniques and two-year experience. (The applicants should go through an audition).
