Universidad de Guanajuato

The foundation of the University of Guanajuato goes back to the year 1732. Since then, the university adopted several names, until March 1945, when the rank of University was acquired as well as the name for which is now known.

With a population of nearly 34,000 students, today, the University of Guanajuato is present in 12 cities within the entity through four campuses and one high school college with ten high schools.

Rehearsals time and place:

1st cast: Tuesdays and Fridays from 17:00 to 19:00 hours, Saturdays from 11:00 to 13:00 hours.

2nd cast: Mondays from 18:30 to 22:00 hours and Thursdays from 17:00 to 19:00 hours.

House of the Folkloric Ballet, Positos #58, Downtown.

The Children’s Folkloric Ballet from the University of Guanajuato was founded in 1996 with the objective to sensitize the new generations and divulge the dance among children with a discipline that promotes several educative values, that contribute to develop creativity and the physical capabilities and improves the corporal expression. This, done through a rhythm-musical education as well as teaching, practice and valuing of different kinds of dances that rescue the national and state folk.

Indispensable minimum technical requirements:

  • Closed or open theater, plaza, patio or auditorium
  • Stage space: 12 x 2 m
  • Illumination: Ambient Spotlights
  • Sound: Equipment with CD player, microphone.
  • Other: 2 wide dressing rooms near the presentation place, water.
  • Necessary transport to move costumes, props and members, besides the corresponding food.

Entry requirements:

  • Have coursed at least 4 semesters in the workshop.
  • In case of being in an another group, previous audition.
  • Medical certificate.
