Universidad de Guanajuato

The foundation of the University of Guanajuato goes back to the year 1732. Since then, the university adopted several names, until March 1945, when the rank of University was acquired as well as the name for which is now known.

With a population of nearly 34,000 students, today, the University of Guanajuato is present in 12 cities within the entity through four campuses and one high school college with ten high schools.

Rehearsals time and place

Tuesdays, dance hall from “Mesón de San Antonio” and Fridays in the dance hall from the “Benemérita y Centenaría Escuela Normal Oficial de Guanajuato”; from 18:00 to 20:00 hours.

Classic Ballet from the University of Guanajuato began as a workshop on February 10, 1995. These years of uninterrupted work have allowed to conform the Classic Dance Group from the University of Guanajuato, selecting among their members, female students that have shown integrity, refinement, artistic sensibility, coordination and movement technique the entire time.

Indispensable minimum technical requirements:

  • Closed or open theater, plaza, patio or auditorium
  • Stage space: 14m wide x 12m depth as minimum, 1m height, side exits (stairs) and a screens in the back and sides (when in open space, plazas, malls, etc.)
  • Illumination: Ambient spotlights
  • Sound: equipment with CD player, microphone.
  • Other: 2 wide dressing rooms near the presentation space, water.
  • Transport to move costumes, props and members besides the corresponding foods.

Entry requirements

  • Have an advanced level of classic technique, minimum antiquity of four years in classic dance.
  • Experience in forum
  • Discipline and sense of responsibility
  • 14 years and older
