It is integrated by eleven members from the University General Council. Eight belong to the university and three are external. The Board of Directors is responsible of designating the Campus’ Rectors, High School Director and Divisions’ Directors from among the candidates presented by the University Council from the respective Campus, the Academic Council from High school or Divisional Council, as appropriate. Will be composed by a minimum of five and a maximum of five members of renowned honorability. They will last in their position, which is honorary, four years and can designated for one more period. It is the patronage responsibility to perform actions that reinforce and increase the University’s heritage; oversee all the scientific, technological and artistic products from the university, as well as the patents, brands and rights that are income generators; propose the general rector and the University General Council, guidelines to improve quality and utility in the application of university’s resources, propose to the University General Council the tariffs that should rule the services that the institutions gives. University’s greatest hierarchy government organ whose attributions are, among others, approve the Institutional Development Plan; elaborate and modify the Organic Statute and other regulations and provisions that regulate the University’s functions and activities. Approve the annual budget project for income and expenses; approve the creation, modification or suppression of Campuses, Division, Department and High Schools or other modalities of Academic Organization; know the creation, development and evaluation of the results from the university’s academic programs. Propose to the Board candidates for General Rector (Chapter II, Articles 15 & 16 from the Organic Law from the University of Guanajuato).
